Asa + Psalm 32
Saturday Feb 29, 2020
Saturday Feb 29, 2020
Bunny trail this week. Isa 41 and forward took me into the life of King Asa who made some good decisions and some bad decisions. We spent the AM looking into that early King of Judah to learn from his life. And that took us to Psalm 32 - eleven SPECTACULAR verses pointing to our great God and His mercy, relentless pursuit of His people to take us into holiness, prophetic mantle restoration for repentant David, eye-contact relationship w a great God.
NEXT TIME: Isa 41 - looking at and confirming God's supernatural and sovereign plans over all events, so that we might even more purposefully press into hearing Him, obeying Him, succeeding in Him (which is what had led me down the Asa bunny trail in the first place!)

Much can and ought to be learned from Hezekiah's life - his successes and also his mistakes, so that we can do better, finish well, impact the world for our great God - regardless of the season in which the world finds itself. Chapter 40 presents us with the eternal truths about God's sovereignty and His eternal promise to sustain, refresh and energize those who wait on Him. So encouraging!

Isaiah 38 sort of, and Sovereignty of God

Saturday Feb 08, 2020
1. The whole Hezekiah story takes us to into understanding God's sovereignty, Kingship, THE Kingdom (of God), the rulers of the earth, and the plan of God as He reveals and establishes His Kingdom rule (not without resistance and rebellion). That is our focus this session. We; as kings and priests, are specifically called to walk through these most critical days of Kingdom conflict. It's good stuff to know and to have in our spirits, so that we understand and can succeed, and that our hearts do not fail as a result of fear or ignorance of God's plans.
2. TECHNICAL NOTE: I am experimenting w a new mic that (a) works great in picking up other folks as they input, but (b) after this first week I am understanding the mic needs to be positioned closer to me than the other folks, so future weeks ought to be better yet, w my voice prioritized but others still happily hearable.

Peter calls us a royal priesthood (1Pet 1:9)
John is told "...and he has made us kings and priests" (Rev 1:6)
Paul tells us we'll be judging angels (1 Cor 6:2)
There is much to learn from the stories of the kings, and we spend this week going into 2 Chron and 2 Kings to learn from Hezekiah, a great king. Not a perfect king (that's Jesus), but truly a great king.

Isaiah 36-37.5 - Sennacherib illustrates the lies of our adversary
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
Satan is never cited as being creative, so we can learn from the past how he operates through lies, counterfeit partial-truths, attempts at intimidation, terrorization, etc. Meanwhile Hezekiah is disclosed to us in 2 Kings and of course in Isaiah as a good king who trusted the Lord. Much is to be revealed in this discussion so that we might be successful in our walks w the Lord always, and particularly in trying times.

Isa 34 - 1.4.2020
Saturday Jan 04, 2020
Saturday Jan 04, 2020
This is not an easy chapter, but then again:
A. Isaiah was not speaking about an upcoming easy time of living; and
B. The word in large part is also awaiting fuller-fillment prior to the return of Messiah.
Happily, chapter 35 is about the Future Glory Of Zion - which is an non-negotiable as anything else in the eternal Word. That's for next time.
Our good Lord has a good, albeit uncomfortable plan for a mostly disobedient and out of order planet and people, the end result being quite spectacular, and the great promise to all His people throughout the ages is the assurance of a Comforter even when life does not present itself comfortable.

Habakkuk - 12.28.19
Sunday Dec 29, 2019
Sunday Dec 29, 2019
Habukkuk is a weighty three-chapter prophecy that only makes sense when your doctrinal lens is wiped clean by the spirit of the Lord - and then its blossoms into glorious encouragement during even the toughest of times, as the Lord intended in the first place.
NOTE: This GATHERING of saints was planned at the last minute, and this RECORDING was begun about two minutes after the gathering had begun.

Isa 31-32.8 - He is our God. Only Him
Saturday Dec 14, 2019
Saturday Dec 14, 2019
Heading towards a time of trouble (in fact ANY time of trouble) Isaiah is telling the folks (us included) that the one and only God, our God, deserves and in fact demands to be our only deliverer. That is a good thing.

Isaiah 30

Assyria will come down with tambourines. That is the word of the Lord.
The call for, and anointing upon, Spirit-infused worship is key the success of the work of the Lord. That intended purpose and plan of God explains the battle for and also the battle against true worship, true worshipers, and everything pertaining to those plans of heaven, especially in this season.
