As our world shakes and destabilizes (as prophesied), we're again reminded by our great and loving God that His ways and His words work, and all else will fail. That actually demonstrates His great love for us in that there is A way to live successfully, in Him, for His glory and for our success.

Our time in Isaiah (56 will be next) gets delayed as we address Pentecost (celebrated this upcoming Sunday, 6.1.20). The significance and timing of this holiday, also referred to as Shavuot, is not be missed. The Lord has perfect timing and I believe we are invited to the place of pressing in, in faithful expectation, for the promised outpouring and infilling of the Holy Spirit.

Oh my. May 23 - between the Resurrection and then Ascension, now awaiting Pentecost - and here we are in Isaiah 55, with our great God declaring EVERYONE WHO THIRSTS. Trying days? Of course. Days of outpouring? Yes and just you wait....

The entire word of God is truth, so gracious-God confirms those truths with His presence. Isa 54 pertains to the restoration of Israel and then rolls into the redemptive salvation work for the whole earth, including the promises to His faithful. All that is very good. AND THEN if/when a message or teaching or study happens to touch the hot fire of what is on God's heart at a specific time, it becomes yet more evident of His pleasure and purpose, confirmed by His clear presence. This zoom-study bunny-trailed via a mini-section of Matthew into His imminent appearance in the clouds - and all of heaven sort of showed up.  Yea God!

Isaiah is considered by many to be the high-point of God's prophetic Old Testament revelation/declaration of Messiah's redemptive work. And chapter 52 taking us into chapter 53 is considered the high-point of that high-point book. Oh thank You Lord.

I often bristle when I see something like: "Must listen" or "Must watch" attached to any audio or video. This message had one of those addresses. I now agree that it is. I personally have not "mathed-out" the years Jonathan cites for folks in office or in authority. I have little or no reason to disbelieve him though. He is a man who fears the Lord and who has his ears up to heaven. 

The progressive revelation of the suffering and then victorious Savior Redeemer begins, eventually taking us to Isa 53, of course. But first the Lord wants us to understand how Israel got into the fix they found themselves in, often, so that the full glory of God's redemption might be comprehended and appreciated, and evaluated as precious and beyond price.

This morning's session was blessed w the presence of the Lord. Amidst all the noise and madness of our shaking world, we are assured, by His presence, of His truths and His purposes. We are most secure in Him. That is so critical to have in our hearts and minds and spirits.

Isaiah 49 in many ways begins the glory-journey towards the Isa 53 revelational description of Messiah, and from Isa 53 to the conclusion of this book, we will see the further unfolding of the redemption and restoration plan in its activity, demeanor, purpose, and fullness.

Israel - the covenant people of God, refined for His glory and His purposes, particularly and notably prior to and during trying seasons on earth, so that the purposes of our great God might be fulfilled - Fully Filled, in their divine destiny. And we get to be here now, for Him.
